Institutional Dimension of Teaching...
We have heard that every head is a world. Just like this every school is different from others and has its own peculiarities, such as: The teachers’ room, the principal’s prerogatives and students’ participation.
To begin with, the teacher’s room is always lively though it’s in silence. Teacher’s getting along is a real challenge. Even a single question may signify war. For example: “Why’s the coffeemaker turned off?” This implies different opinions around the cold coffee that will end up with someone’s mother. Though it seems a little bit childish way to solve a simple problem, the best path to follow is this: stay calm, don’t pay attention to the words, don’t say anything and turn on the coffeemaker. This is a silly example but what would you do when it comes to an important decision making?
As follows, the principal will never accept any mistakes but blame teachers. And its prerogative will state as: “I’m on my right and have more important things to do don’t waste my time.” This shows how our directors don’t know anything about managing a school but love power. I’ve learned that these people will never say “I’m sorry” nor “Thanks”. In addition, suggestions won’t be accepted that easily because things are done the way they have been done since 19xyz!
After knowing this, how on earth students will have a voice to be heard? When talking about an institution you have to stick to it before trying to change anything else. Furthermore, the moral of this paragraph: Actions are worthier than words.
